Introduction
Our Golden Triangle is a perfect introductory journey for first timers! Tour iconic Old and New Delhi, influenced by 1850s British-Raj.
Visit India’s crown jewel – the Taj Mahal, the pink painted city of Jaipur and the royal lake city of Udaipur. Join a scenic drive and visit a popular town where the royals used to picnic and today serves as popular spot for films such as the “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”. From iconic spice markets to Bollywood theatre, cooking classes and more, this is a perfect introduction to India!
Itinerary
Day 1 : Delhi
You will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi
Today you will step-back in time and learn about Delhi’s traditions and rich history. After breakfast, you will be meet by your expert guide and visit iconic mosques, including the 17th century red-sandstoned Jama Masjid mosque and admire the finest indo-islamic architecture. After, you will hop on a rickshaw ride to the one of Asia’s largest spice market, Khari Baoli and iconic wholesale bazaar Chandni Chowk.
Visit the Gandhi Museum, India Gate, President and Government houses before taking the metro to the central markets of Connaught Place. Continue your journey to a community kitchen at the Sikh Golden Temple which helps feed 10,000 devotees daily – you can chose to participate in the cooking cerimony.
Later this evening enjoy a traditional dinner at an Indian family home. Afterwards return to your hotel.
Day 3 : Delhi > Agra
After breakfast, drive to Agra, the legacy city of Mughal-Empire and home to Taj Mahal. Later in the afternoon, you will visit the sacred Yamuna riverside where you will take in the picturesque views and enjoy a majestic sunset before returning to your hotel. This evening enjoy a traditional barbeque at a local restaurant.
Day 4 : Agra > Chand Baori > Jaipur
Early start to experience a sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and combines Persian, Turkish and Indian architectural styles. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
Later, explore traditional houses, the 16th century Mughal residence and UNESCO site of Agra Fort. Drive to Jaipur via the hidden step-well at Chand Baori, a geometric masterpiece popular from the “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” films.
Drive to Jaipur and upon arrival check in at your hotel.
Day 5 : Jaipur
Step-back in time and enjoy many spellbinding sights to discover the chivalrous Rajput era and its battle-scarred heritage. Take a classic jeep up to Amber Fort, enjoy a photo stop at the Jal Mahal water palace and see the Astronomical Observatory and 1700 AD City Palace. Walk through the colourful bazaar to see the iconic facade of the Palace of Winds and for dinner, join a Rajasthani cooking class.
Day 6 : Jaipur > Udaipur > Narlai
Fly to Udaipur and transfer to the 15th century village of Narlai. Drive to the heart of the Aravali Ranges to your boutique heritage mansion of a hotel, Rawla Narlai, which is also home to the royal family. This afternoon you may wish to take a walk through the village to interact with the locals and view their traditional way of life.
Day 7 : Narlai > Udaipur
After breakfast, checkout and return to Udaipur, where a walking tour of the old town will introduce you to medieval bazaars, flower markets, the 16th century Udaipur Palace and Crystal Gallery towering over Lake Pichola. Visit the Saheliyon Ki Bari maidens garden before time for shopping in Bada Bazaar.
This Evening we take you for Sunset Boat Cruise (shared basis) on the shimmering Lake Pichola to view the sparkle of Udaipur including the 17th century pleasure Palace on Island ‘Jagmandir’ and the world famous ‘Lake Palace’ of India, popular amongst Hollywood films. After tour you will be transferred back to your Hotel.
Day 8 : Udaipur
This morning, transfer to Udaipur airport where arrangements end.
