Itinerary
Day 1 : Anchorage
Upon arrival in Anchorage, make your own way to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the sights. With almost 300,000 people calling it home, Anchorage is the largest city and cosmopolitan centre of Alaska. A vibrant and unique city on the edge of the Alaskan wilderness, there are plenty of opportunities for exploring if you choose. The quaint log cabin visitor centre is a good place to start.
Day 2 : Anchorage > Denali National Park
Early this morning take the Denali Star, the Alaska Railroad’s flagship train, in the Goldstar Railcar with service to Denali National Park. Watch for views of Denali and keep an eye out for wildlife. Arrive mid-afternoon, with the rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy an optional activity.
Day 3 : Denali National Park > Denali Backcountry Lodge
Today marks an exciting opportunity to see Denali National Park from the air as you travel by helicopter to Denali Backcountry Lodge. The ride provides not only your transportation to the lodge, but a sightseeing tour where the guides narrate the trip with an interpretive tour of the park’s landscapes and history, all while keeping an eye out for wildlife. Look out for different animal species such as bears, caribou, moose, sheep, wolves and a variety of birds as you travel within the park. On arrival at the lodge, enjoy time at leisure and an included dinner.
Days 4 : Denali Backcountry Lodge
For the next two days, experience all that Denali Backcountry Lodge has to offer! After breakfast, experience activities in Denali National Park such as day hikes, photography, gold panning, botany walks and mountain biking. If you crave a day to unwind, take advantage of the unlimited sauna access, participate in yoga, or add on a therapeutic massage. After a long day, relax in the game room or lounge and unwind with a cocktail or drink of your choice at the full-service bar. Please note that while all meals are included at the lodge, alcohol is an extra charge. Also included and located at your fingertips is access to unlimited equipment and guided adventures during your stay.
Day 5 : Denali Backcountry Lodge > Fairbanks
After breakfast, enjoy another helicopter sightseeing tour as you depart the lodge. Mid-afternoon board Alaska Railroad’s Denali Star Train in the Goldstar Railcar to Fairbanks. Admire the late afternoon scenery as you travel north to Fairbanks.
Day 6 : Fairbanks
Arrangements end after check-out today.
