Introduction
Bounded by the Masuwe River and the Zambezi gorges, The Elephant Camp has breath-taking views of the Victoria Falls’ spray and the spectacular gorges which separate Zimbabwe and Zambia.
The Elephant Camp is a luxury, intimate lodge within easy reach of Victoria Falls and yet secluded in its own private game reserve. Meeting the resident elephants, enjoying lunch at the Lookout Cafe and sundowners are just some of the included activities.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Victoria Falls
On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met and transferred to The Elephant Camp. Spend two nights in a luxury-tented suite with en-suite bathroom, private viewing deck and plunge pool. The main complex offers a spacious deck, lounge and bar. The dining area is a tented structure leading to a sun-kissed pool, offering sweeping vistas of the Batoka Gorge and the magnificent spray of the Victoria Falls.
Each luxury tented suite has a different view – but when the Zambezi is rising to its peak during the rains, the ‘smoke’ that offers picturesque sunsets, is not from fires but from the thundering waterfall. The roar of the water rushing over gorges becomes a constant beat and soon settles into the background like an old friend. It is calming and therapeutic to sit back, watch and listen to ‘The Smoke that Thunders’.
Each luxury tent is adorned with an inside and outside shower as well as a bath with a view! A well-stocked mini bar and tea/coffee stations ensure small comforts for guests whilst in their suite.
The Elephant Camp chefs are dedicated to preparing a fine dining experience using fresh seasonal ingredients and herbs grown in the lodge gardens. Traditional African dishes and accompaniments, such as Sadza (African-style polenta) and Chakalaka (a hot, spicy relish) further enhance the luxury game lodge experience by giving a taste of the real Africa.
A variety of activities are available, and you may enjoy your selection on Days 1 and 2, time permitting.
