Introduction
Nepal is a land of mountain peaks, stupas and remote beauty.
On this adventurous tour, visit the holy sites of Kathmandu and Pokhara, feel the adrenaline rush on a white-water rafting adventure, and connect with the locals on a 5 day trek along the trails that traverse the Annapurna region.
This itinerary can be tailor-made, with the number of days, places visited, and activities varied to suit you.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Kathmandu
You will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 : Kathmandu
Visit the holy sites of Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa, one of Nepal’s most distinctive monuments. Continue to Sankhu Village for a walk around the ancient town centre. Visit the old bazaar and Bajra Yogini, a temple dedicated to a tantric goddess.
Day 3 : Kathmandu > Nagarkot
See the Palace of 55 Windows in the peaceful Bhaktapur Durbar Square and the Temple of Changunarayan, considered to be the stateliest example of the pagoda style in Nepal. Continue to Nagarkot, enjoying stunning views of the Himalayan peaks.
Day 4 : Nagarkot > Pokhara
Watch the sunrise over the Himalayas before travelling to Fishling for a rafting adventure on the Trishuli River. Impressive gorges, moderate white water and exciting rapids make this a real delight. After an included hot lunch, continue to Pokhara, a picturesque city boasting several beautiful lakes and stunning views of the Himalayas.
Day 5 : Pokhara > Hile > Ulleri
Drive to Hile and start your trek (all meals included). See Mt Anapurna to the south and Hiunchuli. Overnight in a guest house.
Trekking time: 3 to 3.5 hours, from 1470m to 1960m above sea level.
Day 6 : Ulleri > Ghorepani
A very pleasant trek today with the opportunity to experience the flora and fauna of the region. As you pass villages you will be able to see the lifestyle and customs of the friendly highland people.
Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours, from 1960m to 2675m above sea level.
Day 7 : Ghorepani > Poon Hill > Tadapani
An early morning hike along stone stairs and through a rhododendron forest will take you to Poon Hill, one of Nepal’s most famous viewpoints. Continue along the trail to Tadapani for overnight.
Trekking time: 6 to 6.5 hours, from 2675m up to 3180m then down to 2675m above sea level.
Day 8 : Tadapani > Ghandruk
A gradual descent today takes you to the large village of Ghandruk. Enjoy the mountain views and visit the museum and handicraft centre.
Trekking time: 3 to 4 hours, from 2675m to 1950m above sea level.
Day 9 : Ghandruk > Nayapul > Pokhara
Your trek descends through Kimshe to Shauli Bazaar. A 30 minute walk leads you back to Nayapul, where you will meet your driver and continue to Pohkara.
Day 10 : Pokhara
Visit the World Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist stupa designed to inspire peace and unite people of all races and backgrounds. Walk to the lake edge and travel by boat to Tal Barahi Temple, a two-storied pagoda temple on a small island on Lake Phewa.
Day 11 : Pokhara > Naudanda > Sarangkot > Pokhara
Drive to Naudanda and commence your hike to Sarangkot. This route is popular both for mountain views and to experience Nepalese village life. The view point at Sarangkot offers views of the Annapurnas, while Naudanda offers the dramatic view of the twin tails of Machapuchhre and the massif Dhaulagiri view.
Day 12 : Pokhara > Kathmandu
Fly to Kathmandu and enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square.
Day 13 : Kathmandu
Visit Dakshinkali Temple, a favourite pilgrimage destination. The temple is dedicated to Kali, the fearful form of Lord Shiva’s wife. Continue to Chovar Gorge and the quaint streets of Kirtipur before returning to Kathmandu.
Day 14 : Kathmandu
You will be transferred to the airport.
