Introduction
Embark on an iconic voyage, traversing legendary cities across the continent aboard the Golden Eagle Danube Express.
This extraordinary journey unfolds from very heart of Europe, Paris, to the magical metropolis of Istanbul – promising an unparalleled experience with signature Golden Eagle experiences throughout.
The Train: The Golden Eagle Danube Express is your luxurious hotel-on-wheels. Unpack just the once and settle into your well-appointed and comfortable cabin as you begin this voyage of a lifetime. Your cabin attendant will be on hand to look after all of your needs. The Bar Lounge Car and Restaurant Cars will host an entertaining and enlightening range of activities such as language lessons and engaging talks by expert lecturers on local history and culture. In the evening enjoy the sounds of the resident pianist playing in the Bar Lounge Car. Every night the bar stays open until the last person leaves.
Superior Deluxe Cabin: Each cabin offers comfortable daytime seating with a full length sofa and two additional chairs. The large cabin also benefits from two full-size picture windows, one of which is openable to add to the bright and airy feel of the interior. Each evening the cabin is transformed into a luxurious bedroom with a UK-standard King Size bed. All cabins have, as standard, a large double wardrobe with excellent storage space, individually controlled air-conditioning, lighting with dimmer switches, individual reading lights, in cabin Wi-Fi and USB ports, power sockets and a safe.
Deluxe Cabin: These spacious yet intimate en-suite cabins offer every convenience and comfort so you may sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as it rolls by. Private bathrooms feature a shower with constant hot water, washbasin and toilet. There is a heated towel rail, shaver socket and hairdryer. A range of toiletries and a dressing gown are provided. Cabins have individually controlled air-conditioning, lighting with dimmer switches, individual reading lights, power sockets and a safe. During dinner each evening the living room is converted into two comfortable lower beds by your attendant who is also on hand to bring you early morning tea or coffee.

Day 1 : Paris
On arrival you will be met and transferred to you hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner.
Day 2 : Champagne
This morning you will be transferred to Paris Gare de Lyon Station, where the indulgence begins with a champagne drinks reception before stepping aboard the stylish Golden Eagle Danube Express. Settle into life onboard your private train as we journey across the serene French countryside towards our first stop – Champagne. Your adventures through this land will reveal a symphony of flavours, history, and elegance, making Champagne an unparalleled destination for the senses.
Day 3 : Vienna
Embark on a splendid afternoon journey through the breathtaking Austrian countryside, traversing the majestic Alps as you make our way into Switzerland. Whether you choose to unwind in the privacy of your cabin, where your dedicated cabin attendant is ready to cater to your every need or opt for the sophisticated ambiance of the Bar Lounge Car. Later, indulge in a sumptuous dinner and experience the pinnacle of cultural delight with a private classical concert featuring the illustrious Vienna Supreme Orchestra.
Day 4 : Vienna > Postojna
This morning, our exploration of the refined splendours of Vienna continues. Austria’s stunning capital, steeped in a rich heritage, casts its enchanting spell on visitors. With its elaborate palaces, iconic coffee houses, and a cultural tapestry woven with classical music and captivating opera, Vienna stands as a seductive metropolis that beckons to be explored.
Indulge in an exquisite post-lunch affair as you step into a realm of culinary opulence.
Then, in the evening, experience refined exploration as we venture into the enchanting depths of Postojna Caves. Aboard an underground train, we delve into a subterranean world of magnificence, wandering through a network of grand halls adorned with a myriad of intricate cave formations and inhabited by mysterious creatures.
Day 5 : Belgrade
Today, our adventure immerses us in the hidden treasures of Belgrade, beginning with an exclusive exploration of Tito’s legendary blue train, a relic of Yugoslavia’s storied past. Indulge your senses with a sumptuous traditional Serbian feast, tantalizing your taste buds with flavours as bold and diverse as the city itself.
This evening, enjoy an immersive culinary journey – with an indulgent Gala Dinner.
Day 6 : Sofia
Sofia is one of the oldest cities in Europe dating back around 7,000 years and sits at the foot of Mount. Vitosha, offering a stunning backdrop to our explorations. The city has some magnificent architecture throughout the city, with a mixture of Western and Central European influences, especially many of the Orthodox churches.
Visit captivating ruins of the Roman city of Serdica, wander through the city Garden and iconic landmarks. Later, you will descend into the hallowed Crypt of of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Day 7 : Istanbul
Today, the final destination awaits, as you arrive into the fabled city of Istanbul, spanning both Asia and Europe. The rest of the day is for you to explore this fascinating city at your leisure before a splendid Farewell Dinner on the atmospheric banks of the Bosphorus.
