The Bay Islands
Surrounded by coral reefs and part of the world’s second biggest barrier reef which stretches north to Mexico. The islands attract divers, snorkellers and travellers looking for tropical relaxation.
La Tigra National Park
One of the most beautiful places in Honduras, the park is a lush cloud forest home to ocelots, pumas, monkeys and incredible bird life.
Lake Yojoa
Home to more than 400 species of bird life, this lake can be explored by canoe or kayak. Hikes to waterfalls and underground caves, tours of coffee plantations and archaeological sites can also be enjoyed in the area.
The best time to visit Honduras is during the dry season between December and April. Temperatures year round sit between 27 – 30 degrees C. During the summer months the humidity is high and being a tropical destination, it is prone to hurricanes between August and October.

Language: The official language is Spanish
Weather: The climate is tropical with the coast being hot and humid. Up in the mountains the temperatures are cooler.
Social customs and quirks: There is a variety of ethnic groups in Honduras, each of which having their own culture, food and dance. It is considered respectful to greet people in Spanish when you first see them each day.
Festivals & events: There is a festival or celebration nearly every month in Honduras of which most are linked to religious events. Other festivals are celebrations of indigenous culture and range from small local events to national parties.
