Introduction
Relax after a safari on the beautiful Spice Island of Zanzibar.
Zanzibar – the very name conjures up images of exotic people, flavours, scents and stunning beaches. Enjoy two nights in historic Stone Town where we have included a guided walking tour and a sunset dhow cruise. Choose one of our handpicked beach resorts for the final three nights where you can spend your days leisurely or as actively as you wish.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Stone Town, Zanzibar
On arrival you will be met and transferred to Stone Town.
Stone Town is a city of prominent historical and artistic importance in East Africa. Its architecture, mostly dating back to the 19th century, reflects the diverse influences.
Day 2 : Stone Town
Today, you will be met and start a walking tour through historical parts of the city and its small lanes and interesting alleyways. Stroll past 19th century buildings, with large verandahs and enormous engraved doors of all colours. Visit Darajani Market, the main city bazaar, and explore an abundance of fresh produce, spices, clothing, crafts and souvenirs. You will also visit local churches and historical monuments before returning to your hotel.
Later today, relax on board a traditional Arabian dhow (boat) enjoying the beautiful sunset. View the mainland from this new perspective, as your guide highlights some of the landmarks. Return with a gentle wind to the glimmering lights of Stone Town.
Days 3 – 5 : Zanzibar
Today you will be transferred to the coast, to your chosen beach resort getting a glimpse of rural Zanzibar en route including orchards, spice farms and villages.
