Introduction
Getting to Sonora Resort is an adventure in itself—a spectacular helicopter or seaplane flight from Vancouver that glides over the emerald islands of the archipelago.
Touching down at your sanctuary, you’ll find yourself in a place where untamed nature and refined luxury live in perfect harmony. By day, the choice is yours: head out on a zodiac to spot orcas and grizzlies, try your hand at world-class salmon fishing, or simply wander the cedar-scented trails of the Great Bear Rainforest. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left the shore.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Vancouver
Upon your arrival, make your own way from the airport to your hotel.
Day 2 : Vancouver
Enjoy the day at leisure. You can explore beautiful 1,000 acre Stanley Park either on foot, bike or horse drawn carriage, eat your way through the food markets of Granville Island, or stroll along the streets of Chinatown and historic Gastown.
Day 3 : Vancouver > Sonora Resort
This morning make your own way to the South Terminal of Vancouver airport. Travel to Sonora Island, where your luxury lodge and home for the next few days is located. The island is an absolute jewel amidst the wild beauty and pristine waters of British Columbia’s West Coast. Sonora Resort is located in a stunning setting amongst towering trees, postcard views and the background music of waves lapping the shoreline. This special place allows you to reconnect with nature. After your arrival, get settled and explore the resort before you enjoy a delicious Pacific Northwestern gourmet dinner.
Day 4 : Sonora Resort
Embark on a thrilling 1 hour eco-adventure tour aboard a Zodiac boat, accompanied by your knowledgeable wilderness guide. Zip around the Discovery Islands for exceptional views of marine wildlife in its natural habitat and rugged B.C. coastline as your guide offers informative narration through a headset system. Later, perhaps embark on an excursion to explore the abundant, untouched wilderness of this region. You may want to join a guided grizzly bear tour or embark on a guided salmon tour (additional cost). In the evening, sit down to a gourmet dinner and sip a fine wine or mingle with other guests in the lounge or games room.
Day 5 : Sonora Resort > Vancouver
Transfer back to Vancouver where arrangements conclude.
