Explore the lovely town of Banff, for a breathtaking ascent to the pinnacle of Sulphur Mountain. After Banff take a coach to Lake Louise and then to Jasper. Along the way you will enjoy the ultimate glacier exploration as you travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. From walking on ancient ice at the Glacier Adventure, to standing on a glass platform almost one thousand feet in the air at the Glacier Skywalk, this experience will leave you with a special appreciation for this treasured region of the Rockies.

From Jasper board VIA Rail's 'Canadian' for the famous train journey across the prairies to Toronto. From Toronto, enjoy a breathtaking, full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Back on board VIA Rail to Montreal where you will take a day tour to Quebec city. Quebec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete! Later in the afternoon board VIA Rail for an overnight trip to Moncton. Wake to views of the Atlantic Ocean, rolling hills, and quaint coastal villages that appear frozen in time. Finish with a visit to Charlottetown, a Hopewell Rocks & Bay of Fundy Coastal Tour and a St. Andrews-by-the-Sea whale watching cruise. End your journey in Halifax.

Day 1: Vancouver > Kamloops (Train) (B,L)

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia's interior. On today's journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops.

Day 2: Kamloops > Banff (Train) (B,L) Your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today's highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff.

Day 3: Morning sightseeing tour of Banff with Gondola This morning, tour the town of Banff. Among the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka and the Banff Gondola for a breathtaking ascent to the pinnacle of Sulphur Mountain. Return to downtown Banff at your leisure. (transfer not included)

Day 5: Lake Louise > Jasper (Coach) Your sightseeing tour today will encompass the ultimate glacier exploration as you travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Day 6: Jasper > Toronto (Rail) Spend the day relaxing in the mountain town of Jasper. This afternoon, board VIA Rail's 'Canadian' for the famous train journey across the prairies to Toronto.

Day 7: On-board VIA Rail Watch the scenery change as you leave the mountains for the prairies and great plains of Canada. Overnight on board the train.

Day 9: Arrive Toronto (Rail) Arrival in Toronto this afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to explore Canada's largest and most diverse city. (Breakfast and Lunch is included on board the train)

Day 10: Niagara Falls Day Tour Travel by air-conditioned motor coach for a breathtaking, full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Tour includes: Hornblower Niagara Falls Cruise or Journey Behind the Falls, a meal overlooking Niagara Falls, free time in Niagara on the Lake and a winery tour including a wine tasting.

Day 11: Toronto to Montreal (Rail) By rail enter French Canada and arrive in the vibrant city of Montreal. There will be plenty of stunning views along the way of the blue expanse of Lake Ontario, the lovely farmland of rural Quebec and the shores of the St. Lawrence River. (Lunch is included today)

Day 12: Quebec City Sightseeing Tour Quebec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete. Quebec City looks and feels very European; perhaps that is why the entire old section of the town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today qualified guides will help you discover the enchanting sights which are part of Quebec City's history.

Day 13: Montreal City Tour This morning enjoy a comprehensive 3 hour tour of Montreal, taking in over 20 points of interest including the Notre Dame Basilica, St. Joseph's Oratory, Old Montreal, the French Quarter, views of the Olympic Site and a panoramic view over the city from Mt. Royal.

Day 14: Montreal > Moncton (Rail) (D) The morning is at leisure to explore the city of Montreal. Later in the afternoon board VIA Rail to Moncton. This evening enjoy the scenic vista through the rural communities of Quebec's south shore. Overnight on VIA Rail.

Day 15: Morning On-board Via Rail, afternoon transfer to Charlottetown (B) Wake to views of the Atlantic Ocean, rolling hills, and quaint coastal villages that appear frozen in time. Shortly before lunch, arrive in the city of Moncton. Upon disembarking the train take an included private transfer to Charlottetown via the Confederation Bridge, this 13 km bridge which joins Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick and Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island and is the longest bridge over ice covered waters in the world.

Day 16: P.E.I. Island Drives & Anne of Green Gables Tour Today enjoy views of rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, tiny villages and bustling harbours along the Green Gables Shore (scenic drive) as we get ready to tour the North Shore area. Brief photo stops at quaint little fishing villages, lighthouses and world class PEI National Park - Cavendish Beach. Tour Green Gables House, an old farm site that inspired L.M. Montgomery's first novel, Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908. A must see attraction will be at Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, located in one of Canada's prettiest village. The company uses locally grown fruit to make delicious jams and marmalades.

Day 17: Morning sightseeing tour of Charlottetown, afternoon transfer to Moncton Discover the history and charm of Canada's Birthplace as you ride through the streets of Charlottetown. View Province House, Beaconsfield, Historic Great George Street, Charlottetown Driving Park, The Lieutenant Governor's House, Victoria Park, University of Prince Edward Island, residential areas, and much more. Then early afternoon depart on a private transfer back over the Confederation Bridge to Moncton.

Day 22: St Andrews-by-the-Sea to Halifax This morning transfer (included) to the Moncton train station and board VIA Rail for the last leg of your Canadian journey. Your final train journey will travel from the province of New Brunswick and into the province of Nova Scotia and the capital city of Halifax. Your journey through history and across Canada concludes with your arrival at the Halifax train station.
