Beginning in the beautiful city of Cape Town, ascend Table Mountain by cable car, visit the Cape Peninsula where the views are sublime and visit a colony of African penguins. Spend two nights in the Cape Winelands where you will have ample time to savour fine cuisine and the viticulture history that dates back to the 1650's. Finally, relax at a luxury retreat overlooking the Cape Whale Coast, where the culinary experiences reflect the pristine wilderness.
Day 1: Cape Town You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend three nights at the Cape Grace, deluxe boutique hotel perfectly situated on a private quay at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Your stay at Cape Grace will enhance your time in Cape Town offering luxurious spa, rare whiskey tastings, sumptuous tasting menus and indulgent afternoon teas.
Day 2: Cape Town Today your personal guide will collect you for a day tour of the city including the rotating cable car taking you up to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting). Hear about the culture of the Cape Malay and see the colourful neighbourhood of Bo Kaap. Experience a local lunch and let your expert guide show you the city's origins and how it came to be the city of today.
Day 3: Cape Town Your guide will show you the highlights of the Cape Peninsula today - including False Bay, the incredible Chapman's Peak drive and all of the small fishing suburbs that hug the shores all the way to Cape Point. You'll take a funicular to the lighthouse for spectacular views and on the way back visit Boulders Beach penguin colony. Lunch at a beautiful seaside restaurant.
Day 4: Cape Town > Cape Winelands Transfer to the Cape Winelands, where wine tastings will mingle with visits to historical towns with quaint main streets, museums and walks. Get a glimpse of the Cape Dutch and the French history of this region where many of the wine farms retain the original buildings. Visit Stellenbosch, a university town full of atmosphere and Franschhoek full of art galleries, boutiques and chocolate shops!
Day 5: Cape Winelands Spend a leisurely day with a ticket for the local "Wine Tram". You can pick and choose several vineyards to visit, hopping on and off the customised local tram-bus and tram.
Day 6: Cape Winelands > Whale Coast You will be driven to the Cape Whale Coast, known for being an adventure playground and home of the marine Big 5. Stay three nights at the luxurious Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, within the Cape floral kingdom of Africa. With forests over 1,000 years old and over 2,500 hectares of fynbos wilderness, the eco-reserve is one of National Geographic's Unique Lodges of the World.
Days 7 & 8: Whale Coast Spend the days enjoying walks, 4x4 nature safaris, horse riding and other optional adventures (at own cost) such as whale watching cruises, shark cage diving and quad biking. Dining at Grootbos is an experience in its own right served along with hand-picked wines, craft spirits and botanical gins.
Day 9: Whale Coast > Cape Town Transfer to Cape Town Airport to connect to your onward flight.
