Discover Cuzco and Machu Picchu staying in stylish, historic hotels and enjoy a famous train journey onboard the luxury Belmond Hiram Bingham to Machu Picchu.
Day 1: Arrive Cuzco You will be met and transferred to Belmond Palacio Nazarenas perfectly situated very close to the main square. Stay in a Junior Suite, located in the historic part of the hotel with evocative courtyard views, these suites feature a small sitting area with a dining table and chairs. Each spacious bathroom boasts underfloor heating and a unique Peruvian travertine marble decor. Upon request, oxygen-enriched air-conditioning can be supplied to your room to help you adjust to the altitude. You may also choose to have the space delicately scented with healing aromas of Andean flowers and herbs.
Day 2: Cuzco Enjoy a private city tour this morning including the cathedral, probably the most impressive in all South America. Also see the Inca fortress at Sacsayhuaman and Koricancha, once the Temple of the Sun and offering examples of the very finest Inca stone work. In the afternoon there will be time for you to explore the city at your own pace.
Day 3: Cuzco > Sacred Valley > Cuzco A private scenic drive to the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the colourful Pisac market and the Inca fortress at Ollantaytambo. Lunch will be at the lovely Sol y Luna restaurant and while you eat, enjoy a Peruvian Paso horse show. Return to Cuzco by a different route leaving the valley by another road.
Day 4: Cuzco > Machu Picchu This morning enjoy luxury train service aboard the Belmond Hiram Bingham to Machu Picchu. Sightseeing tour of the citadel of Machu Picchu. Afternoon tea and dinner at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge situated right at the ruins allowing plenty of time to explore on your own in the afternoon. Overnight at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge
Day 5: Machu Picchu > Cuzco Revisit the ruins (at additional cost) or explore the town of Aguas Calientes. Late afternoon departure of the Belmond Hiram Bingham train to Cuzco including a sumptuous dinner and entertainment on board. On arrival transfer to Belmond Palacio Nazarenas.
Day 6: Depart Cuzco Private transfer to the airport for departure.
