Staying in luxurious boutique style accommodation with getaway to the glorious southern beaches of Sri Lanka will allow you to experience the cultures, landscapes and essences that have shaped Sri Lanka's tea and cinnamon stories, explore the treasures of UNESCO Galle Fort with a resident author, dine at an 18th century spice merchant's home, wander the streets of Colombo with a resident photographer and enjoy some of the best crab in the world at the Ministry of Crab.

Day 1: Colombo > Kotugoda Transfer to Kotugoda to overnight in our luxurious resort.

Day 2: Kotugoda > Galle Travel down the west coast to Galle with views of the Indian Ocean. This afternoon visit Galle Fort with resident author Juliet Coombe. Galle is Asia's best preserved and largest surviving fort built by European occupiers.

Day 3: Galle Surrounds Drive inland to a tea and cinnamon plantation where the resident tea planter will introduce you to the famed Titigalla Tea Factory. Take a tuk tuk ride through winding paths to a vast cinnamon plantation where a walking tour where you can learn how Sri Lanka's southern province produces the best cinnamon in the world. A special dinner in a spice merchant's home is planned for tonight.

Day 4: Galle > Tangalle Early morning canoe trip on the Ginganga River will introduce you to coconut groves, mangroves and village life. There is also a wealth of bird and animal life to enjoy. Later drive along the Thalpe coastline passing Dondra Head Lighthouse to Tangalle. Perhaps this evening stroll the village paths that wind through the jungle. Guests with a passion for cooking can spend an afternoon with the hotel chefs learning how to prepare an authentic Sri Lankan meal.

Day 5: Tangalle At leisure. There is a wealth of optional activities available in the area including: cooking, visiting a bird sanctuary, Hoom-mane Blowhole, Turtle Hatchery at Rekawa or the black rock temple at Mulkirigala.

Day 6: Tangalle > Colombo Visit Lunuganga, Geoffrey Bawa's House and designed as his tropical vision of an Italian Renaissance garden. Continue to Colombo for an afternoon city walk with resident photographer, Mark Forbes. Dinner this evening is at the Ministry of Crab.

Day 7: Depart Colombo
