Day 1: Milan > Cinque Terre On arrival in Milan drive to the Italian Riviera. Check in to the Hotel Santa Margherita Palace, right in the heart of Santa Margherita Ligure. Visit the beach just minutes away or relax in the stunning hotel. Your hotel is perfectly positioned for excursions to the Cinque Terre and Portofino.
Day 2: Cinque Terre (B,L) Colourful houses and ancient vineyards cling to steep terraces, fishing boats bob in harbours and trattorias serve seafood specialities. Today our local guide will show us around the beautiful villages of the Cinque Terre. Return to your hotel.
Day 3: Portofino (B,L, D) Visit Portofino, a picturesque town set upon the turquoise sea. Enjoy a special farmhouse picnic set high on a hill with wonderful views overlooking the cape. Sitting among the olive trees we'll taste local delicacies like extra virgin olive oil, herbs, homemade jams and focaccia. Relax before dinner in a local restaurant. Return to your hotel.
Day 4: Cinque Terre (B) Day at leisure.
Day 5: Cinque Terre > Lake Como (B, D) Drive north through the Ligurian countryside and into the alpine scenery of northern Italy to Lake Como. Check into our hotel with views out over the blue lake, craggy mountains and softly rolling hills.
Day 6: Lake Como (B) Ferry passes are included today so we can see the surrounding historical villages and palaces.
Day 7: Lake Como > Venice (B,D) Leave the mountains for Venice. On arrival we travel by private water taxi to our hotel. This evening, we dine on the terrace of a private Gothic palace, one of the best preserved in Venice, complete with limestone lions, marble sculptures, a Venetian Gothic style wellhead and an original staircase.
Day 8: Venice (B,D) Take a walking tour through charming squares, bridges and narrow streets and then enjoy a ride on a gondola. After exploring the Grand Canal, soak up the charms of the city while wandering through picturesque cobblestone alleyways and squares. This evening we board our ship Oceania Sirena.
Day 9: Venice (B) We have the morning at leisure in Venice before returning to our floating hotel, as the ship sails out of Venice this evening at 6pm.
Day 10: Zadar (B,L,D) A hidden gem of the Adriatic, Zadar offers beautiful beaches, charming promenades, preserved ancient architecture and fascinating historical monuments. Roman aqueducts, forums and temples surround the old town, which features medieval churches and monasteries. Stroll along the paved waterfront and enjoy stunning views of the Adriatic Sea or lounge in one of the many cafés.
Day 11: Kotor (B,L,D) Montenegro's most beautiful bay, first settled by the ancient Romans. You may choose to visit the well preserved and vibrant urban centre, medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 12: Corfu (B,L,D) In Corfu, vineyards and olive groves thrive amid rocky mountains. On this Greek island we'll see horse drawn carriages leading tours of Liston, a galleria of open-air cafes and alluring shops.
Day 13: Taormina (Sicily) (B,L,D) Enjoy magnificent panoramic views on the way up to the town, where you can stroll down medieval lanes past stunning palaces. See the famed Greek theater and its fantastic view of Mount Etna. Or take a trip to the volcano itself and get a first-hand look at cones, craters and lava streams from previous eruptions and a fantastic view over the Gulf of Catania.
Day 14: Sorrento/ Capri (B,L,D) Beautiful Capri, with its stunning panoramas, villages, charming piazzas and the Villa San Michele, makes a nice diversion. Visit the ruins at Pompeii, take a cooking lesson in Sorrento or travel to the frenetic city of Naples and learn to make pizzas as the Neapolitans do.
Day 15: Rome (B,L,D) Rome is awash with world-famous churches, monuments and fountains: the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel, Vatican City, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Opt for a guided tour, sip a cappuccino at a cafe, or window shop at the high-fashion boutiques of Via Condotti.
Day 16: Monte Carlo (B,L,D) The jetset principality of Monaco is the essence of the Riviera; couture fashion, grand yachts and nightlife centred around its famed Casino.
Day 17: Cannes (B,L,D) The quintessential Cote d'Azur resort town, Cannes has long been a playground for the rich and famous. While it's easy to spend a day here people-watching, be sure to venture up Susquet Hill and wander the winding streets of the old town. The 12th century Chapel of St. Anne and the eclectic collection of art in the Museum of the Castre may also be of interest. The hilltop also affords phenomenal views of Cannes and the Lerins Islands lying just offshore.
Day 18: Palamos (Costa Brava) (B,L,D) Located on the eastern shores of Spain's Costa Brava, Palamos is a small and walkable city with beautiful beaches and a lovely promenade lined with restaurants and cafes. Learn about the history and the art of fishing at the popular Fishing Museum. Travel outside the city to visit the renowned Dali Museum, where the museum itself is as much of an attraction as the works of Salvador Dali that adorn its walls.
Day 19: Barcelona (B,L,D) Arrive in this enchanting seaside city with Gaudi's splendid modernista architecture and lively Las Ramblas promenade. We disembark for a city tour of the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's renowned unfinished church and Park Guell, another major work by Gaudi full of amazing stone structures, stunning tiling and fascinating buildings. Check into our hotel located right in the heart of Barcelona.
Day 20: Barcelona (B,L,D) Take a fabulous Barcelona gastronomy tour of the famous Bouqueria Market situated on Las Ramblas to delight your every sense. Topped off with a cooking class and taste the dishes we have just made. A walking tour takes us through the Gothic Quarter before our farewell dinner.
Day 21: Barcelona (B) Transfer to the airport where your journey ends.
