Bettles is an awesome destination or starting point for your Arctic and Brooks Range adventure. Built in 1952, the original Bettles Lodge became recognized as a National Historic Site in the year 1996. The lodge offers a billiard room with pool table, full service kitchen and gift shop with local native arts & crafts. Activities and comfortable surroundings to keep everyone entertained and relaxed. Take it all in with a cold beverage on the screened in porch, a refuge against any mosquito during the summer months.

Upstairs in the Historic Lodge there are 6 cozy rooms that will take you back in time. These basic rooms offer all the amenities you need while you stay in a clean and comfortable piece of history. You can imagine yourself in the 1950's when the rooms were first built to house bush pilots and dog team drivers carrying the mail.

Bettles is far from the beaten path, a real Alaskan Lodge with plenty of character and characters!

Day 1: Fairbanks > Bettles Lodge The scheduled flights to Bettles are in the early morning and early afternoon. Depart Fairbanks on your scenic flight to Bettles Lodge "“ enjoy the 1-hour flight over the Yukon River and above the Arctic Circle with experienced and knowledgeable Alaskan pilots. The Bettles Lodge staff will greet you at the airplane to take your luggage and show you to the lodge for check in.

Day 2: Bettles Lodge Today you have the option to enjoy some unique activities, enjoy scenery and landscape around Bettles including day trips such as a Koyukuk River float to Old Bettles, canoeing on the lake, or blueberry picking. Optional activities (available at additional cost) are: Flightseeing, gold panning, dog sled demonstrations, rafting adventures and much more.

Day 3: Bettles Lodge > Fairbanks Today you will depart the lodge on your scenic flight to Fairbanks. On your return flight, your arrival time into Fairbanks will depend upon whether you take the morning flight or afternoon flight from Bettles back to Fairbanks. If you take the morning flight you will arrive back to Fairbanks by approximately 1 pm. If you take the afternoon flight, you will return by approximately 5 pm. Please plan accordingly for your connecting flights in Fairbanks. Occasional extreme weather can delay flights.

Accommodation

Standard Rooms Guest rooms are separate from the main lodge and are accessed by boardwalks. Each room features a shared bathroom just down the hall, one double bed & one twin bed, alarm clock/radio, coffee/tea machine & hair dryer

Jacuzzi Room Guest rooms are separate from the main lodge and are accessed by boardwalks. Each room features a private bath and/or shower, one double bed & one twin bed, alarm clock/radio, coffee/tea machine & hair dryer. The Jacuzzi Room has a private toilet and a Jacuzzi bathtub.
