Bear Viewing on Kodiak Island

Bear Viewing on Kodiak Island

4 Day/3 Night round trip Kodiak Island

Price from$1,089

Travel to the 2nd largest island in the USA (2nd only to Hawaii) to view the largest bears in the world! Known as the Emerald Isle, nature's handiwork created a place of spectacular scenic beauty and a wilderness ideally suited for land, sea and marine life. Jagged peaks, fjord-like bays and wide U-shaped valleys were left by the glacial retreat. Lush vegetation carpets the terrain, giving the Emerald Isle its name. But the real stars of Kodiak are its famous bears: there are in excess of 2,700 coastal brown bears living on the Kodiak Island archipelago. Adult females weigh from 400-600 pounds and the largest males weigh up to 1,500 pounds. Rarely seen on the road system, floatplanes are the best way to see a good number of bears in a short period of time.
